When she isn’t fighting for justice for Krizman Law clients, Trial Attorney Morgan English is making art – and also fighting for justice for artists ripped off by artificial intelligence.
Morgan, who conducts seminars to help artists understand their rights, was interviewed on Denver7 News recently. She outlined what artists need to consider when art is used in artificial intelligence. She pointed out that AI tools “scrape” the internet, capturing artists’ work that they incorporates in their creations. She counsels artists to copyright their work so they have cause to file suit when robbed by AI.
Morgan said there are suits currently working their way through the courts that will provide more guidance as this new technology develops.
Morgan’s artwork is on display around Denver Metro galleries, bars, and restaurants. Two of her pieces are included in the University of Colorado Art Museum exhibit, “We CU: A Visual Celebration of Black Womanhood, Presence and Connectedness,” on view through July 13, 2024.
