Client was accused of firing a BB gun within city limits, an action that is against the law. Client had a very sensitive employment situation which required the charge to remain confidential, despite it being a minor offense. Mr. Krizman worked diligently with the prosecutor while corresponding with professionals associated with Client’s employment to avoid pleading guilty to any charge, including the often well-received deferred judgment offer.

Mr. Krizman persuaded the Assistant City Attorney to agree to a deferred prosecution in which the only requirements were a firearms course and attendance of a restorative justice seminar. Client did not have to enter a guilty plea or waive their right to a trial. Upon successful completion of the deferred prosecution, this case will be dismissed in a year and automatically sealed.
